printing on demand - colorful posters

Do you have a great design you would like to have printed on some physical items you could then sell or give as gifts?

Lots of websites have been popping up that offer Print On Demand (also known as POD) on various items. They provide the items and do the printing with your designs. With many, you can even just upload your designs and create a shop on their website. That is often at no charge or very small cost, as you can mark up the items for sale for a few dollars above their cost to you.

The beauty of this is that you can have a whole shop of your lovely designs on many products. You won’t even have to pay anything for products until your customer orders from your shop. Then you pay the printer their base cost, they print and ship it directly to your customer, and you keep the profits upfront. They even handle the customer service for you, unless you host the items on your own shop like Etsy, eBay, or Shopify.

Here are some of the better POD companies I’m aware of currently. Many have the option to host your items with your own shop built right on their site. The possibilities are endless!

GearBubble – mugs, t-shirts, jewelry, pillow cases, gift ideas, and more personalized ideas available. See my store here for examples and ideas of customization over various products

Zazzle – lots of cool items like clothing, shoes, accessories, gifts, party decor, wall art and much more

Red Bubble – customize items like phone cases, clothing, kids & baby items, various types of wall art, lots of gift ideas, and more with your own designs

Cafe Press – t-shirts, pajamas, travel mugs, tote bags, journal books, doormats, clothing, jewelry, pillows, blankets, candles, shower curtains, aprons, and other items are waiting for your personal designs

Vida – if you’re an artist, you may be interested in designing or putting your art on various premium items from a company with a purpose. Scarves, bags, clothing, masks, and jewelry are some of the items you can create through them.

Other Resources To Build Your Own Shop and Line Of Your Custom-Designed Products:

Printful – Various printing techniques to add to their quality products. Printing techniques available include embroidery, all-over printing, UV printing, sublimation, direct-to-garment, and even poster art. Have them print your designs on items like shoes, organic clothing, wall art, and more.

Printify – t-shirts, hoodies, socks, backpacks, sportswear, tank tops, sweatshirts, jackets – and even help to start your own clothing line. They have integrations to make it easy to set up your designs for sale on shops like Etsy or Shopify.

Tote Bag Factory offers wholesale tote bags both plain or customized with your design or even corporate logo identity on them.

Go forth, put your designs out there, and prosper!
